The office of Gina Gucciardo, CPA was founded in October
1999 when Gina Gucciardo purchased the existing accounting
firm of Melva Reid, CPA. The office has been serving
the south-central Illinois community for over sixty years.
We offer our clients the personal service associated
with a smaller firm.
The office consists of four full-time and four part-time
personnel, including two CPAs, four para-professionals,
and two support staff. A brief synopsis of the experience
and education of the full-time staff follows.
Gina Gucciardo, CPA
Gina began her accounting career in 1986 after graduating
with honors from Blackburn College in Carlinville,
Illinois. She became a CPA in November 1986 while working
as a Business Manager at Springfield College. Gina
then entered public accounting working for two separate
accounting firms before purchasing a private practice
in Gillespie, IL in October 1999.
Gina lives with her husband and two children in rural
Gillespie. She is an active volunteer in numerous community
organizations. She is a member of the Illinois CPA
Society and the American Institute of CPAs.
Karyn Hartke, CPA
Karyn has over twenty years of experience in the tax
and accounting field. She began her career working
with her grandmother at the former Gillespie Income
Tax Service. She became part owner of that business
in January 1984 and operated the business until its
sale to Melva Reid, CPA in 1996.
Karyn also worked with Melva Reid and two additional
public accounting firms before joining Gina Gucciardo,
CPA in January 2000. She received her degree in accountancy
from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Karyn
is married and has two children. She lives in the rural
Staunton area and is an active member of Trinity Baptist
Church in Gillespie, IL.
Lisa A. Rondi
Lisa graduated from Gillespie High School in 1995
and received her Associates Degree in 1997, taking
computer and accounting classes in both high school
and college. She started working for Melva Reid, CPA
in 1997 while finishing her Associates and continued
to work for Gina when she purchased the business.
She currently lives in Benld, but was raised in Mt.
Clare where her parents still reside. She attends Gillespie
United Methodist Church serving as Sunday School Secretary.
She also has helped teach the Preschool Class since
1995. She is a member of the United Methodist Women’s
CARE Circle and has directed the Children’s Choir
and the Children’s Christmas Programs for the
last few years. Besides volunteering at the church,
she is an avid reader, music lover and enjoys spending
time with her family.
Julie M. Wargo
Julie has over fourteen years of experience in the
tax and accounting field. She began her career with
the Illinois Department of Revenue in Springfield.
She also worked as a bank employee in the area. She
joined Melva Reid, CPA in 1994 when Melva purchased
the practice from Eleanor Collins. Julie remained with
the firm when Gina Gucciardo purchased the business
in 1999.
Julie currently resides in the rural Carlinville area
with her husband and son. She is active in horseback
riding groups, her son’s dirt bike racing and
loves to read and watch movies.
